Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Mabamba swamp
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative will welcome, meet, and greet you and transfer you to the doc where you will take on the wooden motorized boat to begin your birding experience, the swamp is one amazing place you go to explore and notice how blessed Uganda as a country is, through the papyrus swamp vegetation you will see many birds, the swamp is notable for the shoe bill stock, yellow-throated green bul, African harrier hawk, grey crowned crested crane, yellow rapped tinker bird, sunbirds, swamp flycatcher, malachite kingfisher to mention a few, we will return to the hotel that has been booked for your dinner and staying overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
Morning breakfast after which we will transfer to Uganda’s most visited conservation area, we will stop over at the Ziwa Rhin Sanctuary for birding and Rhinos, the region protects Rhinos but also over 300 species of birds, expect to see the Abyssinian ground hornbill, African blue flycatcher, African hawk eagle, Jacana, open billed stock, black cuckoo, double toothed barbet among others at the watch of Rhinoceros, lunch at Amuka lodge after which we proceed to Murchison falls national park we arrive in the evening for dinner and staying overnight at your preferred lodge.
Day 3: Birdwatching in Budongo forest, and evening game drive.
Following an early morning breakfast, we will be transferred to the forest to begin your day’s adventures, this is also referred to as a Mahogany forest, the trailhead begins from Budongo forest, the forest is comprised of many trails around which you will walk to view birds, the royal mile walk gives rewarding views expect to see Nahan’s francolin, white thighed hornbill, forest flycatcher, forest robin, yellow spotted barbet, tinker birds, great blue turaco, Ituri Batis, woodland warbler, little green bul to mention a few, along the hike there is a chance to meet primates like a chimpanzee, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons. We will return to the lodge if time allows to conduct an evening game drive in search of wildlife, expect to see waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, jackals, oribi. Dinner and staying overnight at.
Day 4: Departure.
Following an early morning breakfast, we will set out for a guided nature walk, expect to see more birds, for example, the open-billed stock, pygmy falcons, northern red bishops, red-faced barbets, return to the lodge for brunch and later transfer to Entebbe for your out bound flight back home.
